Water Baby

I am still at the point in my life where I have no say in a matter..I have no choice but to go along with whatever mummy and daddy have planned. It could be another 2 years before my speech has developed enough for me to say 'I don't want to...' so for now, I'll just have to humour them. And this is one of those instances.....

On Saturday I went for an underwater photoshoot...yes, you heard me....it was a 'treat' organised by my swimming lessons club. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE swimming....but today the teacher mimicked fun bits of the class to fool us into thinking we just having a normal lesson and then WHAM! - we were dunked deep underwater by a random instructor while a bright light was flashed in our eyes and then we were grabbed and pulled up to the surface.....6 TIMES!!!!! Daddy just swirled me round in the water afterwards with a 'you did really well' face and mummy clapped by the side of the pool...so, what exactly did I do?

Anyway, I have been told the photos are great so I will post one up when they come. It was actually quite good fun and I didn't cry...but thinking about it, if I had screamed and made a bit of fuss, I would perhaps be one step closer to them understanding my 'not wanting to do something'....!!

Doggie

Another momentous occassion...my first understood word. For many months now I have been wondering what the big black furry things are in the kitchen...I laugh when they come near and tickle me with their fur but jump out of my skin when they shout. They are quite protective around me, especially when I am eating my lunch and dinner...which is daddy says is most strange....

Whenever I see the black furs, mummy and daddy always say 'doggie' so mummy was impressed when, walking downstairs this morning and saying 'doggie', I leaned right round in the direction of the kitchen and looked for the black furs. I may not eat sandwiches but I know the word 'doggie'...priorities.

Sandwich Yes Sandwich No

I have been confusing mummy. It's just that one day I will love sandwiches and the next day I prefer to flick bits of them at the dogs and smear the rest over my face. Just because on a Monday I will enjoy a Dairylea sandwich, doesn't mean I will want it again Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday....yawn...

So then she tried adding some tuna...she knows I like tuna as I have it for dinner with pasta...however, I do like tuna - just not COLD IN A SANDWICH! Yuck. Then she tried banana...BANANA??? That's a pudding mummy. She then tried cucumber sticks alongside the sandwich as if that was going to disguise the fact that the sandwich filling was in fact Diarylea again....

Mummy is struggling for ideas for my new finger food ability and sandwich fillings and wonders why it is when 1) I have a clean nappy, 2) I have slept well, 3) I am supposed to be hungry....why am I not eating it?????

Sorry mummy but 1) My nappy was clean when you put it on 5 minutes ago (ewww), 2) Yes I slept well but am still tired, 3) Am just not particularly peckish right now, just like sometimes you're not.
Poor mummy, she is quite confused but my logic is quite simple....
